The Men of Pure Romance

imageI was so pleased to see the response we received from the Father’s Day Men of Romance blog series last week. It was probably one of the most fun blogs I’ve had the opportunity to do. We often hear the cliché that “behind every great (and successful) man, there’s a great woman.” I think in this case we see that the reverse is often true! In this business, I work directly with the Pure Romance Consultants and don’t often get to meet the husbands and fathers who support them. There’s often the assumption that it’s one person’s obligation to keep things going, but these couples are showing us that there’s teamwork on both sides to keep a marriage and family on track. Even better, they aren’t just talking about how to do it, they are showing their children and all of us by example.

The way that the responses were written, it’s easy for people to think that their lives are fairytales, but they know that everyone has bumps in the road in life and it’s all about how you deal with them. These couples have a plan in place and have one another’s backs – it was a true inspiration!

What is a Goddess?

I came across this definition of a Goddess (below) on social media and had to share. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: women always try to take on so much – we try to juggle a million things for so many around us; we never take the time to stop and appreciate how beautiful and amazing we ALL are.  Take a moment to read and remind yourself today, and every day, that you are truly a Goddess…

A woman who is in the process of learning to know, accept and love herself on all levels, Mind, Body and Spirit. A woman who, because she focuses on personal growth and self awareness, experiences a life increasingly filled with peace, love, joy, passion and fun. A woman that understands that she has unlimited capacity to make her life anything she wants. A woman who is inspired to give to those around her because of her sense of gratitude and abundance.

“Everybody’s got a past. The past does not equal the future unless you live there.” – Tony Robbins

What are you holding on to this very minute? Every year we accumulate more “junk” and hang on to it (almost for dear life).  It’s like the brand new dress with the tags still on it from three seasons ago that you keep cluttered in your closet because you swear one day you will wear it (but NEVER do). The common behavior of hoarding doesn’t just apply to material things, but also relates to experiences associated with pain, anger, resentment – even just those little things that make us feel comfortable, but we know deep down are not good for us.

Standing Up

I am sure you have heard the saying “the squeaky wheel gets the grease.” This is a squeaky wheel story, and a reminder that no matter how accomplished you may be, negative people will try to cut you down.

I was at a distant relative’s wedding recently in Toledo, Ohio. I was immediately put off because some of the guests did not respect the occasion. They showed up in tattered jeans, tennis shoes, and other clothes more appropriate for a football game.
