Sex Education for Grownups
We like to encourage our Pure Romance Consultants to “Stay a Student”—that is, continue to learn better ways to entertain their clients, manage their own business and listen to what their customers say, in and out of the order room.
But all of us can be students when it comes to our own sex lives. It’s what l like to call “Sex Education for Grown-Ups.” In fact, the New York Times recently published a story with that headline on suggested reading materials to help us with our “homework.”
According to a study in the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, “increasing frequency of intercourse from once a month to once a week generates the same amount of happiness as an additional $50,000 a year in income,” writes Judith Newman, the author of the article. (Now THAT’s my kind of return on investment!)
The books listed include: “Becoming Cliterate: Why Orgasm Equality Matters—and How to Get It” where the author talks about various ways, including, yes, vibrators, to learn more about our bodies work; “It Takes One to Tango: How I Rescued My Marriage With (Almost) No Help from My Spouse-and How You Can Too;” “Love: One Shrink’s Sensible Advice for Finding a Lasting Relationship,” examining traits for long-term partnerships; and “Sex That Works: An Intimate Guide to Awakening Your Erotic Life” that drops the interesting factoid that the rate of anorgasmic women is three times higher in the U.S. than in Europe.
No matter your relationship status, it’s always good to “stay a student” when it comes to your own sexual health and sex life. Communication is the key, whether it’s with a partner or if it’s with your Pure Romance Consultant. There’s not much she’s not heard of or dealt with, and always know that if you have questions or issues, she’s a great listener.
