“Imagine…Then Do It”

I was so honored to be asked to participate in the 1st Annual “Imagine…Then Do It” event at the Mayerson JCC, Cincinnati, Ohio, today. The event was put on by Act Three an organization founded by Julie Shifman which focuses on helping women attain a compelling and exciting next stage of life.

My section of the event included a panel discussion with WCPO’s Carol Williams and Heather Ingle, a mother of 14 children (many of which are adopted and have special needs or mental or physical disabilities). There were over 200 women who registered for the sold out event and it was so refreshing being around so many women who were passionate about following their dreams no matter what stage of life. When I started Pure Romance out of the basement of my home I was in my late 30s and could never have imagined that this business would be touching as many lives as it is today. I am living proof that it’s never too late to dream and it was wonderful to be a part of an event that reinforced this message.

    Hello Patty!
I know what a wonderful and empowering feeling it is to be a part of a strong group of people that are all focused on the same thing. I recently participated in a workshop called the BRAC PACK. This is a group of men and ladies that all tested positive for the BRCA mutated gene that causes hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. It was an amazing feeling to hear everyones stories and know that I am not alone. I also gained knowlege and education so that I can share my story with others and spread awareness and help others become proactive. After learning that I carry this gene, I chose to have a preventative hysterectomy and bi-lateral mastectomy. This was a long road with many complications and I would love to write a book about it soon…”Imagine…then do it” right?. I am sharing my story with you now because I was a Pure Romance Rep before I started this process. I have not done a pary or been active for quite some time, however, I have kept an eye on your website. I noticed a line that is now offered called “pink ribbon”. I am very interested in more information on how I can become involved in this line and also how I can become an active rep with little start up cost. I live in an area that doesn’t have anyone doing parties at this time, so it would be a great opportunity for me. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope to hear from you soon. Have a wonderful weekend!!

      Michelle,
Thank you for your comment! Support groups can be incredibly empowering and I’m glad to hear you have found a group of people who you have been able to open up with and learn more. I think that’s amazing that you intend to write a book about your experiences and as I mentioned in my post, once you have imagined it you are well on you’re way to making it happen.

We would love to have you back on board with us and just had a wonderful reactivation special back in October. We will be running another one in the future, so be sure to check back on the website. We do have a Pink Ribbon Line which is part of the Sensuality, Sexuality, Survival program within Pure Romance. Have a great week!
