As many of you know, in 2006 I created the Patty Brisben Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization which serves to enhance women’s sexual health and well-being through research and education. This has been an ongoing passion of mine and last Saturday, we held our 3rd Annual Fundraising Gala “A Grand Affair” raising more than $70,000 for this wonderful cause! Formerly held at the Queen City Club in Downtown Cincinnati, we moved our event to the Savannah Center to hold the growing number of supporters and sponsors who came out to support women’s sexual health!

The evening was filled with great food and dancing to one of my favorite live bands Uptown Rhythm and Blues. Guests were able to play with $25,000 in casino “fun” money as well as take part in our silent auction. The most popular element of the evening is by far our Balloon Blast where guests are able to buy a balloon and pop it to discover what they’ve won; the value of the baskets were double the cost of the balloon and included everything from jewelry and Coach Purses to gift certificates and tickets to talk shows in New York City!

My favorite part of the evening was when we awarded internationally renowned urogynecologist and pelvic surgeon, Dr. Mickey Karram with the First Annual Patty Brisben Foundation Award of Excellence in Women’s Health. It’s funny because people are always in such admiration that I get to work with celebrities through Pure Romance, but the truth is the people that I truly look up to are those who (regardless of fame or fortune) are out there in the world making a real difference. These are the people who are making our quality of life better and should be recognized and celebrated on so many levels. We look forward to awarding many more health care providers and sexual health advocates in the years to come!

    Patty,
Congratulations on the success of “A Grand Affair”! I wish I could have been there, but time and distance prevented it. I look forward to seeing you in Vegas!
